We're Hiring: Junior Chef de Partie / Independent Cook (16–24 hrs)
Location: Bluey's Cafe - Amsterdam Zuid / WTC

Bluey's Cafe is looking for a confident, independent cook who loves being part of a social, busy kitchen. We're a neighbourhood cafe and deli with a Sydney-inspired brunch menu, all made from scratch, no prefab, no shortcuts.

You'll work closely with our head chef and sous chef, keeping things running smoothly, staying efficient when it gets busy, and jumping in wherever the team needs you.

For the right person, there's an opportunity to grow into a Sous Chef role after the summer.

What you'll do

• Open and close the kitchen independently when needed
• Batch and process multiple tickets efficiently, comfortable running 5 tickets at a time solo, not one by one
• Run the passe during cafe service and handle sandwiches on the deli side
• Receive and put away orders independently
• Help with prep, cleaning, and restocking, including dishes when the team needs it
• Keep an eye on quality, freshness, and presentation
• Bring your ideas, we love trying something new

You are

• At least 2 years of kitchen experience, comfortable working independently
• Confident in a fast-paced kitchen, you batch your tickets, you don't panic
• Social, positive, and a real team player, happy to prep, cook, serve, clean
• Organised, efficient, and a good communicator
• Passionate about real homemade food and teamwork
• Available on weekends, at least one day, 2 to 3 days a week in total
